  1. Ask a Seventh Day Adventist

ya, i don't really come on here very often haha, but i like engaging with other denominations/religions/theists/atheists etc. with regards to the pope, i fully agree with her comment about the pope; however, that is not what i am referring to. she refers to the Sabbath as the "GREATEST" commandment, however, that is wrong. loving the Lord our God is the greatest "Anyone who can arbitrarily change any laws put forth by God is not loving Him with all His soul, which is a failure of the greatest commandment. There is no contradiction here." i agree, the POPE is breaking that commandment, but that does not mean that keeping the Sabbath is the GREATEST commandment. the dates i mentioned: -and the same evidence which they had presented to show that the prophetic periods closed in 1843, proved that they would terminate in 1844.†Early Writings, p. 236. -I have seen the 1843 chart was directed by the hand of the Lord, and that it should not be altered; that the figures were as he wanted them; that His hand was over and hid a mistake in some of the figures, so that none could see it, until His hand was removed." Early Writings, p. 74. (you can check out more here: with regards to the "few months" that is just a play on words. if i say "i will be there in a few minutes" and i show up 7 years later... well yes, technically it is "minutes" but overall, that is a false statement; likewise, if she says " will have to learn in a few months" and over 150 years go by, well that is not a true statement. also, matthew 19:16 reads: 16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? 17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. 18 *He saith unto him, Which* ? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, 19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? 21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. why didn't Jesus tell him to keep the sabbath?
  2. Ask a Seventh Day Adventist

sorry for the super late reply; i actually own her book, "the great controversy ended, if you go through here writings, it raises some questions to me, for one, she says: The pope has changed the day of rest from the seventh to the first day. He has thought to change the very commandment that was given to cause man to remember his Creator. He has thought to change the greatest commandment in the decalogue and thus make himself equal with God, or even exalt himself above God (Early Writings, p. 65). however, in the bible, Jesus tells us: 36 Master, which is the *great commandment in the law*? 37 Jesus said unto him, *Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind*. 38 *This is the first and great commandment.* 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. so we see a contradiction; also, ellen G white has predicted the end of the world several times, in 1843,44,45,51 etc, however, it never came to pass. she writes in 1850: Some of us have had time to get the truth and to advance step by step, and every step we have taken has given us strength to take the next. But now time is almost finished, and what we have been years learning, they will have to learn in a few months. They will also have much to unlearn and much to learn again. Those who would not receive the mark of the beast and his image when the decree goes forth, must have now to say, Nay, we will not regard the institution of the beast (Early Writings, p.67). now putting aside the fact that the bible tells us that no man knows the day or the hour, we also read this: 22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him. so essentially, God is saying if what has been spoken has not come to pass, he/she is a false prophet. sorry to kinda dump all this on you at once, but what do you think about this?
  3. Ask a Seventh Day Adventist

do you take ellen g white as a true prophet, and consider her writings "inspired" ?
  4. didn't read the thing because im behind on my lecture readings, and i probably soulden't even be wasting time on this sight now, lol, but anyway, i encourage you to check out dr kent hovind debates, also, white rabbit made a great vid called "the greatest lie ever told" check it out
  5. yupp, i know Jefferson Bethke, i liked his video on Jesus is greater than religion, hes surprisingly popular for a christian youtuber, haha
  6. hello everyone i thought it would be interesting to hear which preachers you guys like to listen to; i know it would be a wide variety as we all believe in different doctrine, and the preachers you listen to would portray that belief, but regardless, i'm curious to see. you can use anyone, TV preachers, and even small Youtube ministries, i myself listen to a lot of "preachers" on Youtube, so go ahead and post the channel, id love to check them out as well. ill start; one of my favorites is Paul Washer
  7. God Answers Prayers!

amen! 10 Thy kingdom come, THY WILL be done in earth, as it is in heaven. his will > our will; we do not know what is always best for us; we cant see the big picture. what might look good to us in this present time could lead to something else later. countless times when i pray for something i think is right for me, and i don't get it, i wonder why; later in life i find out the reason, God knows best.
  8. How can racist people be Christian?

well; first of all we know that we are CALLED as Cristian to love one another, otherwise we are not really his disciple. 34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. and we see all across scripture about RIGHTEOUS judgement: 24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. being all equal: 3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. ------------------------ 9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; 10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: 11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all. ------------------------ 26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. ------------------------- 2 My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons. 2 For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment; 3 And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool: 4 Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts? 5 Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him? 6 But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats? ect. so; it is pretty much impossible to accept racism and call yourself a Christian because you are going against the very thing that Christ stood for.
  9. Tattoos& Piercings

i do not believe in tattoos and piercings; me personally as a strong christian believe that God has made us as we are. Tattoos and piercings are worldly things. i am happy the same way God made me! as for if a girl had got them in the past; i wouldn't mind as long as it not too much and she has decided not to get any more. i wouldn't get any though
  10. Going to church...

ok, i want everyone to understand first, there is a *big* difference between being "religious" and being "spiritual" although i have never been religious, i have seen the whole atmosphere, so i have some insight on this side, my parents are religious, and i have been (forced) to go to church as a kid since i remember. later in life I found Jesus, and I consider myself spiritual, NOT religious. if one is religious, then yes, church is a big, if not the biggest, aspect of being a Christian, as that church (or denomination ) is pretty much what you follow, in terms of doctrine/ rituals/ beliefs, etc. this is why religious people tend to marry within the church. Say a Roman Catholic were to marry a Mormon; there would be ALL KINDS of doctrinal confusion between the two of them so it would be very difficult for things to work out. now; if one is spiritual (like me) it’s a whole different story. take my life for example. ive been going to church for years, and never got anything out of it, I lived the same sinful life every day, but Sunday I'd go to church. now years later (around the age of 16) I was given the opportunity to seek Jesus for real, and my life has been completely changed up to now, (20 now) I was able to do things I never even imagined possible; now that’s another story which is much longer, and I don’t want to go into detail, but the point being, I was able to do all that without following religion. now I don’t go to church, but my faith has never been stronger at any point of my life. so to me, as being a spiritually strong individual, it is not important for a girl to go to church, rather to have a very strong personal relation with Jesus, and follows God himself. you see, the problem with modern day church today, is that we have missed the meaning of church. biblically church is a gathering of Christians, and I do that all the time when I meet for fellowship with other Christians, but I'm sure that that’s not what you mean when you say church, you're more referring to the denomination. well, for one who follows their denomination, it is better for that individual to marry within it, the turith is, we are all lead by one book, weather orthodox, catholic, Pentecostal, Baptist, Methodist, Lutheran, non-denominational, whatever, so that is the book that I follow. the way I see it, ALL denominations have flaw, there is no perfect denomination, that’s why "going to church" isn't important to me, what's import is following Jesus himself, continuing to grow spiritually, being obedient to God, and serving him. Im looking for a Girl who does the same.
  11. Should Men Give Up Porn?

very true... lust and sexual immorality is the FIRST thing that we must learn to overcome as a Christian, if we are struggling with this before we are married, we would easily confuse love with lust within our marriage... also, pornography is not something you can just "replace." it is an addiction although you may not know it. you have the ability to have that sexual experience with hundreds of different women at a time, and you wont have this ability when you are married, (obviously) ya sure, within the first month or so your marriage will be great, but once you have that addiction, it will keep on creeping on you to turn back to it, and the last thing you want is to be dealing with this during your marriage. many marriages have been ruined because of this,
  12. lol, i definitely know that feeling, especially on youtube as a christian being outnumbered by all these radical atheist bigots, definitely have to bite your tongue sometimes, however, it is important not to entertain the spirit of vengeance, if you desire the day of their misfortunes, than you are no better than them, as you yourself has committed sin and held hatred in your heart. first step: forgive them in the name of Jesus, let any anger or suppressed hatred be removed, and let it go, step 2: pray that Jesus may give you the strength to be patient with them, and to also work on them and reveal the truth to them. furthermore, a good thing to do would to talk to them alone, and just straight up tell them that you don't appreciate some of the remarks they make when it comes to God, and that you are a very strong Christian, and your beliefs are a very important part of your life, if they truly are your friends, they would understand
  13. Body Types

in terms of body type, it would vary from guy to guy, every guy has his own preference, me personally i like girls who are shorter than me (less than 5'11) and curvy!! love those curves haha and in-terms of that guy telling you to stop working out, don't worry about him. physical exercise is a very important part of life, and if you feel you are too skinny, maybe you are doing the wrong kinds of exercise, might want to try and start working on definition now that apparently you have nothing left to burn, lol -dumbbell squats -dumbbell lunges -dead lifts -calf raises (weighted) -crunches -leg lifts -v ups might also what to throw in a little bit of back and chest 2 days a week, but girls tend to stay away from upper body mass anyway, hope this helps!
  14. there is a difference between racism, and what you are physically attracted to, you cannot help who you like, and if you preference a certain ethnicity, that doesn't make you a racist. as a matter of fact, physically, we tend to be attracted to people who look much different than us because of our human instinct. basically our brain finds people attractive of different decent so we don't run the risk of inbreeding, which is a good thing, me personally, i have been attracted to all ethnicity, it really depends upon the person, but honestly, i can't see myself marrying someone of the same ethnicity as me (although i have found many attractive) i find other ethnicity of women extremely attractive
  15. whats your perfect guy?

now, i know that all girls usually have different preference, and it really depends on the guy, but generally speaking, what physical features make up "the perfect guy" to you? i'm interested about what different girls may find attractive while other girls may find the exact opposite attractive, please be descriptive, you can include: height eye color hair color ethnic background physical build (skinny/buff/etc) hair style facial features facial hair (or clean shaved) or anything else that i might have missed or didn't include thanks!
