Expectations in a what you were looking for vs what you actually fell in love with?

So, I was just curious. Before you were married, and you would think about the type of person you'd hope to meet, and someday marry. The way the viewed things, how they thought, what personality they'd have, etc etc.

 

Did you find someone who fit your expectations of what you thought you wanted? Or, did the love of your life surprise you and turn out to be completely different than what you thought you wanted?
