So I'm guessing a bucket list is not a wish list for various buckets and pails that you want to own in life?

A bucket list?.. hmmm .. I presume it's more like goal orientation list.

Short term goal: [motivation for every day]

> Build more muscle [not to much] and getting ripped afterwards.

Mid term goal: [3~4yrs goal]

> From architect draftsman to civil engineer.

Long term goal:

> Specialize in structural engineer.

> And own couple of houses [have one already].

> Start your own engineering / architectural firm. [Only need partners or people to work with].

> Eat more healthier. Go green.

> Work on my weaknesses to become a better person.

> Build a home server. [to stream audio / video to different rooms of the house]

Other goals in life:

> Learn spanish and french. [know certain words so far ~ but takes time]

Accomplished goals:

> Learn the basics of guitar [would like to take it further]

> Build my own home theater pc [but sold it because it was of no use]

That's all I can think of by now.

LOL, no Mark, it is not, though that would be pretty awesome too! :D :D :D :D

Yes, to clarify, a "bucket list" is a list of things to do before you "kick the bucket," or in other words, a list of goals you hope to accomplish before you die. The bucket is only a metaphor.

I think a wish list of desired buckets is a lot more fun!

Well, you go right on ahead and post your wish list of desired buckets, then, Mark! And please be sure to include pictures, so we can all bask in their loveliness and utility. :D

If the right person comes along, proposes and we get married:

-Buy a house together

-Have children (biological and/or adopted), raise them to love and support each other, to be caring, happy, peaceful, virtuous and respectful people to others and themselves (as in have self-respect), to help them realise how much worth and power they have in this world as individuals, to help them to recognise/develop their talents, to encourage them to dream and support them in making those dreams come true.

To raise my children to appreciate, play and create music. I'll have a musical home where everyone plays something (anything)/sings and we have fun playing together. They'll be a music room/studio to make this happen. This is just for fun, I wouldn't expect them to choose a career in music, it's up to them what they choose but if they do choose that I'll support them too and give them guidance because it's a difficult field but if you're wise and prepared you can be successful and have a stable, successful career.

-To be a successful speech and language therapist, to integrate music and music therapy in my sessions and to work privately, possibly with my own clinic one day.

If no-one comes along, to do all of the above minus the children (so I'll still have a musical home with a music room but one where there's just me making the music).

There are many other things I want to do in my life but I don't know if life has those things in store for me yet so that's why they aren't on the list, I don't want to have a long list so I'll be disappointed when things don't meet my expectations.

No no no, this is why it's called a bucket list. It's supposed to be lengthy and full of awesome feats, some that are rather difficult to accomplish. It's no fun if you add the cruise after you've already bought the tickets.

Life is no fun if you write a list of everything you want to do then proceed about ticking them off. I like to be surprised so I can say in 20 years, wow I did (activity), I never thought in a million years I would do (activity). Life is a journey and the reason people love journeys is that element of surprise and adventure. Journeys would be excruciatingly boring if we knew everything that would happen along the way.

It's also good not to have expectations so in twenty years time if I hadn't ticked off my list I'd feel like a failure and that I hadn't achieved anything. I'd rather go with the flow.

Also, the more things you add to a bucket list, the more likely it is you'll end up adding materialistic/superficial things. My main goal is to be the best person I can be, strengthen in character, contribute something useful to the world and be (actively) happy. I couldn't care less about what countries I go to, the car I buy etc, in the grand scheme of things those things mean nothing and would not enhance my life.

Oh, I have a TON of these, but I'll just list a few... because I'm tired. :)

1 Go to Venice, Ireland, London, every US state, and many many more

2 Walk the Via Dolorosa

3 Visit the Secret Annex Museum

4 Meet a few select celebrities... just to find out if they are as cool as they appear to be. I don't mind if my bubble gets burst, because maybe it won't. :)

5 Ski

6 Learn to handle, and shoot, a gun properly

7 Hang glide

8 Conquer a few of my fears, or all of them

9 Find a true love, and get married

10 Adopt at least one kid

11 See my nephews grow into wonderful young men, and maybe help it happen

12 See my sister, again. I miss her.

13 Create a piece of art that makes someone's soul happy

14 Create an app

15 Have a personal photography studio, on a large piece of land

16 Be as helpful to as many people as I can

17 Go camping on a camping beach

18 Make love in the rain (in a tent in a forest or something... or London)

19 Prove to more people that not all Christians are unaccepting of people who don't hold the same beliefs, this is something I've seen a lot of lately...

20 Not have to have everything in an even out... but for now that one will wait. :)

That's what I can think of right now. :) Probably some that are even more note worthy. lol
