Great song by Boyce Avenue called On My Way ♥ It made me think of this community, so I wanted to share it.

The story behind the song is this:

"This song just kind of poured out of me one night. I had just finished watching a movie in my apartment and I was feeling super inspired, so I picked up an acoustic guitar and in a few hours it was done. Part of the reason I think it came together so quickly was because it is definitely the most personal song I´ve ever written. It´s for the girl I will spend the rest of my life with, but haven´t met yet..."

Alejandro Manzano (lead singer, guitarist and pianist of Boyce Avenue)

Lyrics are in the video, so I didn´t write them out on here, if that´s ok.

Checking this band out and I think I love them!

They have a music video for this song now too!

"I Hope You Dance" - Lee Ann Womack

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance

I hope you dance
I hope you dance

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Livin' might mean takin' chances, but they're worth takin'
Lovin' might be a mistake, but it's worth makin'
Don't let some Hellbent heart leave you bitter
When you come close to sellin' out, reconsider
Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance

I hope you dance
I hope you dance
(Time is a wheel in constant motion always rolling us along)
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
(Tell me who wants to look back on their years and wonder, where those years have gone?)

I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance

Dance
(Time is a wheel in constant motion always rolling us along)
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
(Tell me who wants to look back on their years and wonder, where those years have gone?)

Song lyrics are now wrong, 7 billion people on earth ;_;

Oh man, that´s true!!! I didn´t even notice that until you mentioned it. And the song isn´t even that old. Two, three years or something.

The world population grows so fast...

Cool song about lasting love. I guess, that´s something every waiter wants in the end (and of course many non-waiters...).

However, maybe there are some on here, who can already relate to it....like the married folks on here, for example  :)

That´s sort of scary :superwaiter:

It is scary, with that many people there will be a huge chance of mass disease. We're over due for a big disaster, tbh we need a disease to take half the people off the planet to ensure our survival for a longer period of time.

They say by the year 2020 we'll have 12 billion on earth!

Really? I heard the UN estimates it'll be about 8.9 billion by 2050. They also think it'll peak around 9 billion at the most, and then start going down. So I don't think we'll be in need of a disease to wipe people out.

I heard 12 billion by 2020 somewhere I can't remember where. I think 8.9 billion by 2050 is a bit lower considering we have 7.2 billion on earth now.

Hey!
I just thought I'd suggest these two songs, hope you like them!

Bruno Mars-If I knew

This song is perfect for the article about letting go of your partner's past relationships. The lyrics are really sweet about how Bruno regrets not saving himself for this special innocent girl he's now in love with and is asking her to forget his past so that they can be in love.

Especially this line:

I wish we were seventeen
So I could give you all the innocence
That you give to me
No, I wouldn't have done
All the things that I've done
If I knew one day you'd come

"If I Knew"

Oh, oh, oh I, I was a city boy
Riding to danger's where I'd always run a boy who had his fun
But I wouldn't've done
All the things that I have done
If I knew one day you'd come

Now baby, now baby, now baby, now baby
Oh, oh, oh, I, I know it breaks your heart
To picture the only one you wanna love
In someone else's arms
But I wouldn't have done
All the things that I have done
If I knew one day you'd come

Now, baby, now, baby, now, baby
Oh, baby, please
Let's leave the past behind us, behind us
So that we can go where love will find us
Yeah, will find us

I know most girls would leave me
But I know that you believe me

Baby, I, I wish we were seventeen
So I could give you all the innocence
That you give to me
No, I wouldn't have done
All the things that I've done
If I knew one day you'd come
If I knew one day you'd come

Lauren Hill- Doo Wop (That Thing)

This song is completely different as it's a rap asking girls to wait to have sex which is nice to have in the charts really. I think the lyrics are more powerful than the song itself but that's just me

"Doo Wop (That Thing)"

It's been three weeks since you've been looking for your friend
The one you let hit it and never called you again
'Member when he told you he was 'bout the Benjamins
You act like you ain't hear him then gave him a little trim
To begin, how you think you really gon' pretend
Like you wasn't down then you called him again
Plus when you give it up so easy you ain't even fooling him
If you did it then, then you probably f*** again
Talking out your neck sayin' you're a Christian
A Muslim sleeping with the gin
Now that was the sin that did Jezebel in
Who you gon' tell when the repercussions spin
Showing off your ass 'cause you're thinking it's a trend
Girlfriend, let me break it down for you again
You know I only say it 'cause I'm truly genuine
Don't be a hardrock when you're really a gem
Babygirl, respect is just a minimum
Niggas f***ed up and you still defending them
Now Lauryn is only human
Don't think I haven't been through the same predicament
Let it sit inside your head like a million women in Philly, Penn.
It's silly when girls sell their soul because it's in
Look at where you be in hair weaves like Europeans
Fake nails done by Koreans
Come again
Come again, come again, come again, come again

Guys you know you better watch out
Some girls, some girls are only about
That thing, that thing, that thing

The second verse is dedicated to the men
More concerned with his rims and his Timbs than his women
Him and his men come in the club like hooligans
Don't care who they offend popping yang like you got yen
Let's not pretend, they wanna pack pistol by they waist men
Cristal by the case men, still in they mother's basement
The pretty face, men claiming that they did a bid men
Need to take care of their three and four kids men
They facing a court case when the child's support late
Money taking, heart breaking now you wonder why women hate men
The sneaky silent men the punk domestic violence men
The quick to shoot the s***n stop acting like boys and be men
How you gon' win when you ain't right within
How you gon' win when you ain't right within
How you gon' win when you ain't right within
Come again
Come again, come again, come again, come again

Girls you know you better watch out
Some guys, some guys are only about
That thing, that thing, that thing

"The Gift" by Jim Brickman is a song about waiting. The song is about saving oneself for marriage and presenting their "gift" or virginity away to that special someone. The "gift" could also refer to love. "Gift" may also refer to your future spouse. It can also refer to Jesus' sacrifice. I think in general it leans to virginity and future spouse, but listen to it and decide for yourself.

What about Relient K - The one I'm waiting for

The way that girl can break a heart
It's like a work of art
And this is the worst part
She knows it

And she's so confident
That she's what everybody wants
But nobody wants
Her to know that

So fall back on all of your premonitions
And just learn to listen
To those that have more wisdom than you
And just stop
Putting so much stock
In all of this stuff
Live your life for those you love

And I'm still waiting for
You to be the one I'm waiting for

The way that girl can turn a head
Well she is such a threat
But don't ever forget
She knows it

And she's got it all
All figured out
And she won't let you doubt
She knows it

I'm still waiting for
You to be the one I'm waiting for You to be the one I'm waiting for

Something tells me that this is going to make sense
Something tells me it's going to take patience
Something tells me that this will all work out in the end

To Whom It May Concern by The Civil Wars

album_title.png

Joy Williams and John Paul White

Why are you so far from me?
In my arms is where you ought to be
How long will you make me wait?
I don't know much more I can take

I've missed you
But I haven't met you
Oh how I want to
How I do

Slowly counting down the days
Till I finally know your name
The way your hand feels round my waist
The way you laugh, the way your kisses taste

I've missed you
But I haven't met you
Oh how I want to
How I do
How I do

I've missed you
But I haven't met you
Oh I've missed you
But I haven't met you
Oh but I want to
Oh how I want to

Dear whoever you might be
I'm still waiting patiently

Sorry if this is a repeat I haven't read through the topic.

"Wait For Me" by Motopony

Probably not necessarily written about waiting on sex, but you could see it like that. Anyways...it´s a enjoyable song.
