  1. Do you prefer a "manly" man or a "sensitive" man?

I'd want a man that has a balance between both. Like I absolutely need someone to kill the spider for me okay! But when I'm feeling emotional I would like someone who could empathize a little too. Sometimes I wish guys would just be themselves instead of trying to put on a tough face. I want a guy who can labor hard but also hug his mom at the end of the day

Awe, that's cool! I like the studying from history perspective You can do it! England just seems a little stuffy compared to Scotland. Scotland is such a quiet and beautiful place. I'd like to hide in the hills someday!
  3. Ask a Catholic! (i.e, me...)

Oh okay I understand canon now. Yeah I just bought a book called the forbidden books of the New Testament. It's sounds interesting. It would have been so cool to be there hundreds of years ago and witness such primary holy resources. As a history minor I'm like in awe! However, I don't relate to any of those 3 Branches of Christianity. I refused to be called Protestant by the Catholic Church. My denomination was around before the Catholic Church. And none of those titles define me I'm a Fundamentalist.

Good luck on your studying What were you studying? I just finished a 10 page paper myself. I've been to your beautiful country when I was 12. I think I enjoyed Scotland more than England.
  5. Ask a Catholic! (i.e, me...)

Thank you for your answers. I was glad to find out that Catholics don't put their faith in the pope. I know in past decades in Europe the pope's power has been some what scary. Wow Pope John XII's death sounds quite interesting..lol Yes I was asking if Catholics could choose their own moral sexuality. Thanks for clearing that up. I actually think it's okay if two people don't agree on the Bible. In certain issues I think all Christians have different convictions. However, I would suggest a close relationship between the two people. Unless they can respect the other person's decision. I also don't believe the Catholic Church was established before the completion of the Bible. But then again I think we differ in what we call the Bible. The Old Testament was definitely finished before the RCC. And what is canon? Is that the Catholic Church's thoughts on the Bible? I had a Catholic friend who really made me dizzy with all this stuff. He is a Catholic and goes to a buddy's Apostolic church, claims his heart truly lies in the Episcopal Church, and his sister goes to a Methodist school. I just can't. My whole life I've only ever identified with the Baptist denomination. Thanks to Vince to for the heads up! haha

Hey I once dated a Catholic and would like to hear your thoughts on some on my questions about Catholicism. I'm a Baptist myself. So some things are a little confusing to me. First of all why do Catholics have a pope? I feel this is wrong and puts too much trust in man rather than God. Matthew 23:9 says And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. Words of Jesus in red Also Psalm 146:3 Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save. All the teaching on Theology of the Body clearly states to save sex for marriage. But does it by any means mean that a person can choose their own morality/ sexuality? Do Catholics believe in reading and studying the Bible? One Catholic friend once told me he doesn't feel it's necessary because of John 1:1. Claiming that Jesus in the Word. But yet the Word became flesh and Christ returned to heaven and left us with an inspired Word. As a Baptist Christian it freaks me out when people don't bring a Bible to Bible studies. I look forward to your thoughts.
  7. is masturbation a sin?

I personally feel like this topic goes along with: How far is too far in a relationship. I realize the specific act can be done alone but is the question here because you want other people's approval? Instead of asking is this wrong or how far is too far why aren't we asking how pure can I be? Also in the Bible it says that the act of pleasure of one's body is under the control of the spouse. So self pleasure seems wrong according to that. It's like cheating on your future husband. This is I Corinthians 7:4 The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband. In the same way, the husband does not have authority over his own body but yields it to his wife.

  10. Hello, new here

Welcome Luke! I am like you as well and hold onto values but I was taught them while growing up in a Christian church and school. There was a time when my principles where tested as well. I'm glad to say I choose them over the guy I was dating. Those situations make the difference and the difference makes it worth it Fireflight song. Have fun chatting with others!
  11. Religious Freedom Restoration Act

Wow this has went from RFRA to basically just sex, but hey it is a waiting till marriage site haha. Really? Was it not Henry the 8th that was granted a rather debatable but still an annulment from the POPE? According to the Bible marriage is until death does the couple part. However, a man such as the pope can become teacher of lies. Such as 2 Timothy 4:3-4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears. And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

  13. Religious Freedom Restoration Act

Honestly who would want pizza at their wedding anyhow? Yes. I know this bill is not for Christianity only, that's why it generally says religious. As a Christian I feel it's not relevant because I've never needed mans approval to live a life that glorifies God. It's pure opinion, based on my beliefs. Also I know fellow Christians have their own convictions but how are taking pictures of gay people sinful?
  14. Religious Freedom Restoration Act

I wish other states would have decided back then on this bill. Part of me sees the good and the bad to this act. Yet at the same time we have freedom in Christ so acts like this should not be so man and government centered. I'm merely stating that the approval of man is not needed when Christians decide yes or no on a topic based on their own personal convictions. God is the final judge and the government finally saying yeah it's okay doesn't impress me, because I already know right and wrong from the Word and Holy Spirit inside me. This whole bill being a topic of "Religion" puts the focus on what man thinks is right from wrong. Instead we should ask "What does God say is right from wrong in His Word?" I don't like to say I'm religious I like to say I have a intimate relationship with God. True believers have already had freedom in Christ from the beginning of time.
