  1. How many languages do you speak?

Cool, it's nice to know that some of you actually know some ASL. I think I am falling in love with this WTM community. :-) I haven't been in school for two years. This Fall, I decided to go back and study Education in Masters to teach for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and teach ASL & Deaf Culture as well.
  2. How many languages do you speak?

Awesome! Literally, I know none because I don't speak. :-D Well, I can speak but I haven't practiced for years. I am deaf. Of course, I know how to type, write and read. I am thankful for that. Visual/Sign Languages: American Sign Language ASL, French Sign Language LSF (some) and Russian Sign Language (little) Spoken Languages: English, French (2 years in a college, I forgot most of it but remember how to read some), Traditional-Chinese (read little only, my wife is from Hong Kong and play Mahjong often with my wife's family) :-)
  3. Suggest Books

"Love & Respect" by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs - highly recommend
  4. I see, were you there when universe created (or evolved) itself? You seems know something is there which ghosts may existed. Are you telling us that "itself" created ghosts? So, tell me how ghosts evolved? According to your belief "universe created itself." I am curious. Thanks.
  5. Actually, it is a science religion vs another science religion. It's not religion vs science. We all have same earth, same evidences, same tools, same chemicals to use and same universe - only difference between them is "interpret" evidences what we see and what we found. All the scientists do have a belief and bias like we do.
  6. I was planning to ask you some questions but this one answered most of my questions. Now, I would like to ask you a question. You believe there is a Creator - God created the universe. So, is it leap of faith or know this one for sure through science and believe God created? Believing in God that He created the universe is not ultimate truth? I found there are only three religions that strongly believes that God is Creator and 100% involved in Creation - Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. I have studied some religions and science - everything I studied and led me to know Jesus, Creator of Life, and led me to be a Christian and believe in Him and live for Him. I do believe and KNOW that God created the universe as well and it's ultimate truth. I follow Word of God and seek a church that follows Bible - nothing else but only Bible teachings. It's what I believe in. It's nice to know that we are sharing a common - believing there is Creator God. Let me know if I'm getting off-topic. It's somewhat fun to learn and discuss those topics. I was only replying to Red's question and seems some of you want to jump in and ask some questions
  7. Bippy123, You explained very well. Thank you for sharing. I will check them out. I'm a curious person and seek truth.
  8. I am glad that you asked. I have found three links to share. Does Archaology Support the Bible? http://www.answersingenesis.org/articles/nab/does-archaeology-support-the-bible http://www.whatchristianswanttoknow.com/does-archeology-support-the-bible-a-look-at-the-evidence/ http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/15778538-the-genius-of-ancient-man (Book) According to carbon dating, we should ask ourselves a question(s) like this: Is the explanation of the data derived from empirical, observational science, or an interpretation of past events (historical science)? Are there any assumptions involved in the dating method? Are the dates provided by 4C dating consistent with what we observe? Do all scientists accept the 4C dating method as reliable and accurate? Ask you again, do you accept carbon dating is reliable and accurate? Most scientists have skipped the questions and blindly accept the 4C dating method as accurate and reliable. Most of them are evolutionists and believes in an old earth which they will interpet items and anything to prove their "evidences" and shows that they are correct. Evolutionists usually make assumption then make it as a "fact" of course - all the scientists do have a belief and biased. It's unfortunate. Creationism vs. Evolution (actually it is Christianity vs. Humanism) are fighting over the same earth, same evidences, same fossils, same tools & chemicals to use, etc. Since the Bible is the inspired Word of God, God is infallible, we are not, we are fallible and have limited knowledge. Our thinking areas should be based on Word of God. The use of carbon-4 dating is often misunderstood. Carbon-4 is mostly used to date once- living things (organic material). It cannot be used directly to date rocks; however, it can be used to put time constraints on some inorganic material such as diamonds (diamonds contain carbon-4). Because of the rapid rate of decay of 4C, it can only give dates in the thousands- of-year range and not millions. So, you are asking ME what I believe in, here is the explanation below Of course, the Bible doesn’t say explicitly anywhere, “The earth is 6,000 years old.†Good thing it doesn’t; otherwise it would be out of date the following year. But we wouldn’t expect an all-knowing God to make that kind of a mistake. God gave us something better. In essence, He gave us a “birth certificate.†For example, using a personal birth certificate, a person can calculate how old he is at any point. It is similar with the earth. Genesis 1 says that the earth was created on the first day of creation (Genesis 1:1–5). From there, we can begin to calculate the age of the earth. Let’s do a rough calculation to show how this works. The age of the earth can be estimated by taking the first five days of creation (from earth’s creation to Adam), then following the genealogies from Adam to Abraham in Genesis 5 and 11, then adding in the time from Abraham to Christ. Also, Christ to Today. Adam was created on day 6, so there were five days before him. If we add up the dates from Adam to Abraham, we get about 2,000 years, using the Masoretic Hebrew text of Genesis 5 and 11. Whether Christian or secular, most scholars would agree that Abraham lived about 2,000 B.C. (4,000 years ago). 5 days (Creation to Adam) ~2,000 years (Adam to Abraham) ~2,000 years (Abraham to Christ) ~2,000 years (Christ to Today) ~6,000 years (The Age of Earth) I hope it answers your question(s). Thank you.
  9. Red, I am a follower of Christ. I am born-again Christian. I am a Young Earth Creationist as well. I believe in a triune God (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) that created everything from nothing in six literal days. God is our Creator. God don't need a cause. God is not man, (Numbers 23:19). In real sense, God created time - so everything has beginning and end. Why this belief? I studied evolution and some religions. I have questioned the Bible. I have studied the Bible for more than 5 years (Book of Genesis 3 years). The Bible actually DO have all the answers what I need and for everyone. What supports? Overwhelmed yes - there are a lot of evidences that supports my belief. Actually, it is THE TRUTH. I believe in the truth - The Bible (biggest picture is Jesus Christ). Christianity is based on true faith, not blind faith. Other religions aren't quite same as Christianity. Why? Read below. There are over 40 authors (through God the Holy Spirit) have written books and letters in 3 different languages (Hebrews, Aramaic, and Greek) and in different times and different places. It is about 2,000 years to take the whole together as one book. The Bible is an extraordinary work of literature, and it makes some astonishing claims. It records the details of the creation of the universe, the origin of life, the moral law of God, the history of man's rebellion against God, the historical details of God's work of redemption for all who trust in His Son Jesus, and everything is very detailed in Bible. If it is true Word of God, this has implications for all aspects of life: how we should live, why we exist, what happens when we die, and what our meaning and purpose is. Bible is truly Word of God. Archeology confirms Bible. Science confirms Bible. History confirms Bible. Everything we see confirms Bible. The truth of the Bible is obvious to anyone willing to fairly investigate it. The Bible is uniquely self-consistent and extraordinarily authentic. There are a lot of people have some problems with the Bible or really hate this book because it has full of eyewtiness authors! It has changed the lives of millions of people who have placed their faith in Christ. It has been confirmed countless times by archeology and other sciences. The Bible is truly infallible Word of God.
  10. What is the fastest you've driven?

This cop must have eaten a dozen of donuts.
  11. What is the fastest you've driven?

I went 93 mph in a 30 mph zone with my Monte Carlo LS V6 1995. I drove it in a huge farm area near Jonesborough, TN. It was exciting moment but it went too fast and short. However, it would be ugly if I get hit a cow. Again, I went 100 mph in a highway with my dad's old car (Toyota Camry 1998 with 350,000 miles on it) - I drove it on a hundred mph for like a few minutes. Man, when I went over 90s, this car had shaken a lot like sightly earthquake! It is quite weird and scary experience.
  12. What is your favorite Bible Scripture?

I have quite a few favorite verses. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (Genesis 1:1) The Lord reveals His omnipotence to Job (Job 38-39) Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations. (Psalms 100:3, 5) But Ruth said: “Entreat me not to leave you, Or to turn back from following after you; For wherever you go, I will go; And wherever you lodge, I will lodge; Your people shall be my people, And your God, my God. Where you die, I will die, And there will I be buried. The Lord do so to me, and more also, If anything but death parts you and me.†(Ruth 1:16, 17) And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’ ? So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.†(Matthew 19:4-6) For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.†For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. (Romans 1:16, 17, 20-23, 25) For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. (Colossians 1:16, 17) But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned— (Romans 5:8, 12) 1 Corinthians 13 and John 3:16 Oops, I think I posted little too much...
