  1. The Death Penalty

Is it murder though? I was always taught(by my pastor, nonetheless) that God gives us the right to take the life of a human to the authorities, should the circumstances deem necessary. Murder is when somebody wrongfully takes the life another person. If God has given the right to the authorities to determine whether or not to give somebody the death penalty, then it isn't wrongful taking of life. As for everybody has rights, yes. But, don't we also have the right to justice. What kind of justice is being served when somebody has killed many people gets live out his life in prison with three meals per day, the right to earn privileges(such as tv and internet), and can get regular visits from family and friends, while somebody else's family suffers the loss of a loved one, somebody else doesn't get those "rights" because this person decided to take their life. In fact, most of these guys will be placed in protective custody because the other prisoners could hurt, or worse kill, them for what they did. Where was that protection for the victim? I do not mean give everybody the death penalty, just the ones who have committed crimes against a number of people. I dare you to ask the families of James Holmes victims, Ted Bundy's victims whether they deserve to have rights. I bet some of them will say where was my family member's rights when they were committing their crimes.
  2. The Death Penalty

First of all I support it for majorly heinous crimes. Like with the whole case going on with James Holmes(the movie theater shooter). This may sound cold hearted to some of you guys, but with some of these crimes do you really believe they deserve rights? Does a serial rapist, serial killer, or even a mass murderer think of the rights of their victim? No, they take them away from them. I'm not saying every criminal should get the death penalty, not even a murderer or a child molester. I'm saying the worst criminals get it. The only thing that sways me against the death penalty is that is more expensive than putting somebody in prison for life. Jenny on your question about it being more expensive, it is more expensive because of the trials and hearings they have to go through to get the death sentence. Most of these offenders attorneys are paid for by the state because the offender can't necessarily afford one. Not only that you have to add in the prosecution, the judge, and the jury. Those numbers add up and quick. Plus, one the offender is sentenced to death that is the end all be all. An offender has to sit on death row for a minimum of 10 years(at least where I live they do). This is done to make sure they got the right guy and to make sure everything went right in the trials and hearings.
  3. How was your Christmas??

Could of been better. Woke up sick and pretty much slept all day. I did get a lot of the things I wanted and spent some valuable time with my family, so it wasn't all horrible.

  5. I don't really know how to respond to this, but I'm going to give it a try. Maybe try to talk to your mom and see if she knows the circumstances of the divorce. This may help you get some closure. Other than that the best I can say to you is this: sometimes things fall apart and there is nothing we can do about it. Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes one thing must go, so that another better thing can come along. I know these are all cliche, but sometimes cliche is what gets you through hard times.
  6. My response: I would rather have a better future. This age is suppose to be fun, but it can also ruin your life. I know people who have ruined future careers because they would rather do drugs/have sex/drink. Now they will be lucky to hold a decent job, let alone reach their dreams. It doesn't happen to everyone who "has fun" this way, but why even risk it.
  7. I'm open to the idea, but it would not be my first choice. Same with divorce. I do not want to be somebody's second wife, but if were the right person I would consider it. Every situation is different so I would try to understand what happened and what's going on with that person before I considered marrying them. The fact that they had sex before doesn't bother me. I don't mind marrying a non virgin.
  8. No I don't. People have tried to convince me that it will, but everything they have told me has been disproved (except for the Mayan calendar thing, but honestly people are trying to make a bigger deal out of that than it is).
  9. People actually attack Modest Swimwear!!!!

I don't see why people need to be so critical of other's choices. I personally wear a bikini, but I have no problem with girls who wear modest swimwear. It's their choice how much of their body they wish to show off. I've always had a hard time with people who judge people for dressing modestly. I've hard comments like they're all bible thumpers or who cares it's not like me seeing a little more skin is going to turn me on. I've seen a lot of people who dress modestly and you could never tell they were doing it to dress modestly. They choose everyday clothes that covers a little bit more and doesn't draw attention to certain areas of the body. So what's the big deal?
  10. I don't require gender roles from my husband. I would like a man who is physically fit, but more for himself and his health. I do the same thing for myself. Other than that, I would want a guy who wants equal responsibility in the rest. I don't want to be the homemaker while he is out breadwinning. I want us both to be able to take pride in what we do at work as well as what we do around the house. I want to be a working wife. I would like to marry a guy who dresses little more masculine. I don't want to feel like I have the same shirt he does, just a little smaller.
  11. Birth order

Naturally- In the book he talks about role reversal, which could explain you and your sister. The book is definitely way more in depth on this(obviously), but I thought I would post an article to give everyone the main idea. redyellowblue- You would be what's called a functional firstborn. A functional first born can happen one of two ways. A person is a functional first born if they are the first born of their gender or there are 5 or more years between the next oldest sibling. I didn't originally post this because I didn't want to complicate things too much. Nothing is exact about personality, but it is kind of an interesting idea that the order in which we and our siblings are born can play a role in our personalities.
  12. Dasboy, maybe I can help clear some things up for you. Though you do pay for college no matter what there is a different between private colleges and public colleges. Public colleges receive government funding(I believe it is usually state government funding). Private colleges do not receive any funding. Public colleges are generally cheaper because of the funding they receive, but that also means they have to play by more rules than a private college.
  13. The Question Game

Tuesday- for me getting up on Tuesday is much worse than Monday. I'm till not into the swing of the work week Tuesday morning. At least on Monday I was rested from the weekend. Tuesday also seems to be the longest day for me. When you were younger what did you want to be?
  14. What's your personality type?

I got INTJ. I was strongly drawn to introversion, where as the other three I was slightly to moderately drawn. I think personalities don't shift over time. I think they may partially be influenced by what is going on in our lives at the time, especially if you are only slightly or moderately drawn to that type. That could explain why some of you got different result when you tested this time.
  15. What eye colour do you have?

My eyes shift from a dark brown to hazel just depending on day, time, etc. It's weird because I am the only one in my family with brown/hazel eyes. Everyone else has green eyes.
  16. I would definitely encourage them to WTM. I don't think I would tell them they have to, but I would give them the option. I'm not going to put any restrictions on them as to when they have sex, but I won't let them date until high school. Honestly in the end it is their body and they are going to have to live with the consequences. I will teach them the values behind waiting and try to instill in them what the true meaning of sex should be. From there they decide. This kind of makes me think back to how my parents approached sex with me and my sister. For me it was always when your ready come to us and we'll make sure you're prepared for it. We'll get you on birth control and we'll get you condoms to make sure you are safe. With my sister it was always you will not have sex until you are older. You will not have sex until your at least 18 and on your own. She lost her virginity at 17, I'm waiting. I didn't want to have sex because my parents expected me to lose my virginity in high school. My sister had sex because my parents expected her to wait.
  17. I think we all have things that worries us that we won't ever be able to make a relationship work. I worry that I won't be able to make a relationship work because I have a really hard time trusting people. I have really only grown to trust one person in my life, and it's not even one of my parents. I worry that I won't ever be able to have a good relationship because of this. Relationships should be built on trust and how can I build a relationship on trust? The one thing that helps me through those moments that I feel like I'm going to be alone for my entire life is the hope that there is someone out there that is going to be willing to help me. There is a person out there that is going to be patient enough not only to wait for marriage with me, but patient enough to help me to learn to trust them. There is somebody out there that is going to see past our flaws and who is going to help us. That person is going to understand that you are going to falter and when you do, they are going to be standing right next to you helping you back up.
  18. Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory. He is actually a super virgin. But, his reasons aren't exactly traditional reasons for not having sex. In fact, I don't think he will ever have sex, even he does marry. I guess he really doesn't see the point in having sex. Plus, he sees anything that exchanges bodily fluid as unhygienic, so that takes out kissing also.
  19. Last names?

I think I would hyphenate my last name. I like the idea of taking his last name, but also keeping mine. I'm not sure how I would feel about just taking his last name.
  20. What is your career?

Right now I am a college student. I want to get my degree and become an officer in the military.
  21. Female Virgin Statistics

I found this statistic about Americans, kind of interesting •Although only 13% of teens have had sex by age 15, most initiate sex in their later teen years. By their 19th birthday, seven in 10 female and male teens have had intercourse. •On average, young people have sex for the first time at about age 17 but they do not marry until their mid-20s By age 20, 77% of men and women had had sex, including 75% who had had premarital sex. By age 44, 95% of men and women had had sex; 97% of those who had ever had sex had had premarital sex.
  22. Legalized Recreational Marijuana

I actually like it. I know in that in Colorado it was legalized for medical use, but it was really easy to obtain a medical license. That didn't stop people though. Besides it helping to lessen overcrowding it prisons it will also help police focus on the real criminals, not the people lighting a joint and doing really no harm to society. And we can tax the crap out of it. That money could go to help improve many things in those states. Though, I do not smoke and never plan to, I think this move is a good one.
  23. Baby names?

I don't really keep a list of names I like, but I have thought of several over the years that I really like. I know there are some I would really like to name my kids, but other's I thought would be cute to name a pet or stuffed animal. Girls: Blake Chase Skyler Hannah Jennifer Jessica Boys: Blake Chase Matthew Luke Skyler I kind of like the idea of giving some boy names to girls. I don't really know why, but I think it's cute.
  24. Honestly I wouldn't care if my husband decided to be a stay at home dad. I also don't mind if my kid goes to daycare a couple hours a day so we can both work. I honestly have zero desire to be a stay at home mother. I can see the benefit of staying home and being with your child, but I also find that daycare does have some benefits as well. I guess it comes from being in a family that believes in what a daycare can offer a child and not seeing it as just supervision for children. No matter if my child is in daycare or somebody stays home with them, my spouse and I can raise our child and always be there for them.
