  1. Morality of man without god?

If man himself is the highest of powers, then there would be multiple (approx 7 billion) subjective ethical standards. Each one is as fair as the next one. Therefore the ethical and moral standards of someone like let's say (I hate to evoke this guy, but I can't think of a better example) Hitler, is just as valid as the ethical and moral standards of Darwin, and is just as valid as the ethical and moral standards of Paul the Apostle. There's something about that line of argument that is a bit unsettling if you ask me.
  2. I want to be able to say that I could look past that. But it's much easier to state that "I would forgive them," in a forum on a WTM message board, as opposed to being in that actual situation, where you would tell the person you love, "I forgive you," while you are containing whatever emotions of jealousy, bitterness, and disappointment you would hear from hearing your partner's sexual past. Does that clarify things a bit? But as much I can see the potential hurt I could experience, I think I can look past it ; )
  3. Idealistically, I would be able to forgive, and not hold her to it, even if she was extremely promiscuous in the past. I would care about her current views, and not bear a grudge aginst her past. Realistically, I would probably be extremely hurt at the idea at even one.
  4. Hello

Hello! I've been following this site for a while now, and I check in often to read articles. It's been really helpful and encouraging to know that there are others out there who are earnest about these kinds of things. I just decided now to jump into the conversation. A little bit about myself: -20/m/Canada -Canadian Filipino -3rd year History/English double major -Beginner Guitar Teacher With regards to WTM, I haven't been made fun of that much. I grew up in the "Christian bubble," (Christian school and church), but I'm pretty thankful for that. I only began really taking WTM seriously around last year when I asked my friend why he wore a purity ring. It inspired and challenged me. No previous relationship experience either. I fancy myself as a hopeless romantic. Cheers!
