  1. Fictional Crush?

I didn't read anything before this page, but Mr. Rochester. Oh my. Jane Eyre is one of my all time favorite books, and Mr. Rochester is my favorite character. The byronic hero-dark, brooding, mysterious. He is a bit of a jerk, but you feel so much for his past! The poor dude has had it rough (aside from the rich aspect). If I had that kind of past, I think I'd be an obnoxious jerk too. I watched an adaptation the other day-the first one I have dared to see, because I didn't want to watch something that would never live up to the book. I had only two complaints: they reunited in the wrong location (outside vs. inside, messed up the scene in my opinion), and Mr. Rochester, played by Michael Fassbender, was entirely too hot. Goodness. He's not supposed to be that attractive. I don't suppose I can complain, though! As far as literature goes, I also love the dark and handsome Ralph de Bricassart in The Thorn Birds. It seems I have a type.... Ralph is more gentle than Rochester, but life has also been much kinder to him. After seeing the X-Men movies, I have to say I have a bit of a crush on the young Professor X. I am very attracted to his intelligence and cerebral nature.
  2. Have you ever cried during a movie?

I almost never cry, and feel a bit weird when I go to movies with my friends and they cry, haha! Musicals affect me much more than normal movies though, and I have teared up watching both Les Miserables and The Phantom of the Opera.
  3. MBTI? (Myers Briggs)

There has been a previous thread on this but it has been inactive for a while: Another INTJ here.
  4. Perhaps instead of putting a hard limit, there could be some kind of notification if a person is spamming likes (say 3 or more?), so an admin could deal with that person specifically/keep an eye on them? If someone is "liking" 78 people, they obviously are not using it for the original purpose, but a hard limit might be a little much. Also, the little heart button is adorable.
  5. Soo....

2+2=4, 2*2=4. ...sadly, I cannot similarly disprove your final statement.
  6. The GIF Thread

con't yet again yet again .....and the last and one of my all time favorites: ENJOY! I hope other people decide to share GIFs they have collected. Could always use more (not really, but hey)
  7. The GIF Thread

con't yet again (I have a special spot in my heart for Q)
  8. The GIF Thread

I am sorry, this isn't a "few of my favorites". I thought I could slim it down. Boy, was I wrong. (never think I'd use that as a reaction but it's fantastic) (HEY LOOK IT'S THE GIF FOR US) as you can see, I am a big nerd and whovian. Sorry/not sorry.
  9. The GIF Thread

annnnnnddd continued! (especially applicable to me) Wow, some of these file names are imaginative.
  10. The GIF Thread

Being a tumblr user, I have accumulated a crap ton of gifs. I thought we needed a thread for all your gif-sharing needs. A few of my favorites: as not to spam with gigantor posts, I shall continue in the next post! Mods, feel free to merge if there's already an existing gif thread. I tried searching for "gif" but it's under four letters, and "gifs" didn't yield anything.
  11. 1. Is being comfortable more important to you than getting ahead? No. I deliberately put myself out of my comfort zone to push myself-to a reasonable point though. 2. Are you satisfied to be no better than most other people at your job? Not at all, haha! 3. Do you like to make improvements to the way the organization you belong to functions? Absolutely. I am always that obnoxious person on after-event surveys 4. Do you take trouble to cultivate people who may be useful to you in your career? Yes. 5. Do you get restless and annoyed when you feel you are wasting time? Not really. My downtime is productive in its own way! I DO get really annoyed if other people are wasting my time though. 6. Have you always worked hard in order to be among the best in your own line? (school, organization, profession). Yes 1000x yes. 7. Would you prefer to work with a congenial but incompetent partner rather than with a difficult but highly competent one? No-the competent one. Sometimes that challenge is refreshing-having to compromise and hash out ideas instead of just doing what I want all the time. 8. Do you tend to plan ahead for your job or career? I think this is the definition of me, hahahahaha (yeeeeessssss) 9. Is "getting on in life" important to you? Yes. 10. Are you an ambitious person? Yes. 11. Are you inclined to read of the successes of other rather than do the work of making yourself a success? No. 12. Would you describe yourself as being lazy? Sometimes? I have on and off days. 13. Will days often go by without your having done a thing? Yep. 14. Are you inclined to take life as it comes without much planning? No. Point? I am ridiculously ambitious/achievement oriented. Goodness.

I am using a laptop 20. Favorite dessert? Blueberry delight-an old family recipe-has a pecan crust, a layer of whipped cream and cream cheese, and a layer of blueberries that have been cooked with sugar and corn starch. 13. Got to be kinky... or not!!

I use her Pumpkin Seed conditioner. It smells amazing and makes my hair sooo soft and shiny. I haven't been on much at all lately. I'm so busy with my senior year courseload and college applications that my leisure time has disappeared! Good luck with your curls! Appreciate them!
  14. Got to be kinky... or not!!

Woohoo, curly hair thread! I my hair is 3a, and over the past few years have been experimenting with my hair. The thing that made the biggest difference? No shampooing! It sounds gross, and took me quite a while to bring myself to do it, but once I stopped, my hair has just gotten healthier every day. I do the shampooing motions, and I use a little conditioner through my hair, rub and rinse, and then I put in a leave in conditioner. I LOVE my leave in-it's from darcy's botanicals-you should look her up. Her products are fantastic. About the coconut oil-I have tried that, and it's just too heavy for my hair. It turns out all yucky and oily, but I know it works for a lot of people with more coarse hair, mine is just too soft! Another biggie that helps keep my hair happy is no brushing. I haven't touched a hairbrush in years, I just finger-comb in the shower when I use conditioner. Then, once I'm out of the shower, I scrunch my hair dry-no rubbing-with a towel and put in a little gel and let it air-dry. I use aquage gel that I get from my stylist. And that is how I manage my crazy curly hair! My whole shower and hair routine only takes 15-20 minutes, and I love how it turns out.
